WHO ASSESSES YOUR APPLICATION?
Play Aid's academic team. Every assessor is named and their background is published.
How much assessment your application gets depends on the level you apply for:

| Bronze | You declare against each criterion and attach your evidence. We verify that what you've described is there. |
| Silver | Full assessment against each criterion, with a second opinion on any borderline decision. |
| Gold | Full assessment, plus confirmation from your named institutional contact. |

The criteria are public
The full criteria are published before each window opens and do not change mid-cycle. Every decision cites the criteria, so you can see exactly which requirement was or wasn't met.
The criteria were developed with an advisory group of academics, university staff, esports operators and welfare specialists, and are reviewed with them once a year.

Conflicts of interest
Nobody assesses an organisation they have advised, worked for, or have a personal connection to.
Esports is a small sector and our team has delivered training to many organisations in it. Where an assessor has trained an applicant, a different assessor takes the application. Where that isn't possible, we say so on the decision.
Player CARE training is one of several acceptable ways to meet the capability criterion, alongside Mental Health First Aid and other routes. You do not need to use our training to hold the Charter, and using it gives you no advantage in assessment.
If you disagree with a decision
Tell us within 14 days and someone who wasn't involved will review it. We'll respond within 21 days.
